Juke Joint Performance Team
Open House and Student Showcase!
Join us July 28th for a chance to celebrate our dance community at Juke Joint, while students perform for each other and our friends and family! We will be performing classic routines like the Shim Sham, Tranky Doo, the Madison and other fun chances to highlight our wonderful students. When the show is over, we will have an open dance with the audience invited to stay and join in.
Whether you’re a swing fan, a Juke Joint student, or just curious what it’s all about, we’d love your support from the audience.

What is the Juke Joint Performance Team?
The Performance Team is an opportunity for students of all levels to dive deeper into choreography, musicality, and stage presence — and to share their love of swing dancing with the community. This year’s group has been learning routines from the 1920s to the 1950s, each one rooted in swing dance tradition and full of personality.
Our performers range from newer dancers to longtime regulars. What unites them? A willingness to learn, perform, and bring joy to others through dance.
Why Join a Swing Dance Team?
Challenge Yourself, Grow Your Skills, and Be Part of Something Special
Whether you want to perform, connect with swing history, or just have fun, performing accelerates your dance skills and deepens your connection to swing music.
💡 Connect with the history of swing dancing by learning classic solo jazz routines like the Shim Sham and The Madison or partner dance routines like Frankie's Lindy Chorus and the First Stops Routine.
🎭 Become a Performer: Experience the thrill of dancing in front of an audience and spreading the love of dance.
🎶 Deepen Your Musicality: Express yourself through movement and rhythm.
💃 Join a Community: Train and perform with like-minded dancers.
