Juke Joint Performance Team - Celebrating the Joy of Swing at the Ventura County Fair
This summer, our amazing student performance team is hitting the stage at the Ventura County Fair! Join us August 6th at 6pm for a joyful 30-minute celebration of swing dance history. Our students will be featured in six fun mini routines — including classics like the Shim Sham, Frankie Manning’s Lindy Chorus, and the iconic California Routine.
Whether you’re a swing fan, a fairgoer, or just curious what it’s all about, we’d love your support from the audience.
What is the Juke Joint Performance Team?
The Performance Team is an opportunity for students of all levels to dive deeper into choreography, musicality, and stage presence — and to share their love of swing dancing with the community. This year’s group has been learning routines from the 1920s to the 1950s, each one rooted in swing dance tradition and full of personality.
Our performers range from newer dancers to longtime regulars. What unites them? A willingness to learn, perform, and bring joy to others through dance.
